Objetive

Train housewives in low-income communities in basic construction practices so that they are able to directly implement expansions or improvements in the construction of their home, under the guidance of an experienced contractor.

What Does It Offer?

Field sessions to show in person how to: prepare materials for construction – mixtures, for example --, the installation of construction components – blocks, bricks, reinforcing steel, for example --, advice on avoiding risks and unwanted situations
Provide guidance on the package of materials that each family needs to acquire to continue their self-construction
Organize in groups of 5-8 women to, as a group, work in the home of the participant in turn.

Operation

a. Offer a series of training sessions to the stakeholder group, led by a responsible contractor

b. Randomly generate the order in which work will be done in the home of each of the participants

c. The next participant to be visited acquires the necessary materials in advance

d. On the agreed day, they gather at the indicated work site and together they organize themselves to carry out the required self-construction action

e. As an optional element, the participant visited prepares a greater amount of food that day to distribute it among her classmates who did not have time to do it at home.
